How to Fish: Money in a Bottle & Your First Euro

Look for a small sandy island with a single tree. Launch-day players report finding the bottle there; one direct report says selling that bottle earns the new euro currency. This is a community route from the Islet Update, with landmark-based navigation rather than fixed coordinates.

Route summary: find a single-tree small island, locate its bottle, then sell the bottle for euros according to a player report
Community route summary, not a game screenshot or an island map. Finding the bottle and earning euros are separate checks.

Find the bottle and earn your first euro

  1. Search the small islands, not only the old story stops. The September 28 update adds mini islands. Use the mini-island navigation notes for the reported radar clue; an old five-stage story guide is not a map of these additions.
  2. Identify the single-tree landmark. In the launch-day discovery thread ↗, soup reports finding the bottle on a single-tree desert island, and Pat_TBN subsequently reports finding it too. Search that small island for the bottle rather than assuming it is on the main Desert quest island.
  3. Keep the bottle for the currency step. Lyumia independently identifies the one-tree island and says to sell its bottle for euros in the Islet Update discussion, reply #80 ↗. Follow the sale interaction shown by your current game and check whether your euro balance increases. The sale step is a single player's direct report; no exact payout or special merchant is established here.
  4. Check Steam's two separate goals. Look for Money in a bottle and Bilingual in your achievement list. A checkbox on this website is only a note, so confirm the actual unlock in Steam.

Money in a bottle is not the same goal as Bilingual

Steam’s official list ↗ describes Money in a bottle as finding money in a bottle, while Bilingual is for earning your first euro. Finding the item and gaining spendable currency are therefore separate things to check; the achievement descriptions alone do not specify the exact frame or interaction that awards each unlock.

If you finished all 28 older achievements, the list now has 31. The third addition, Hobin Rood, asks for an arrow kill. Use the 31-entry checklist to track the names without losing your older checkmarks.

What the euros are for

The same update reply connects euros with the new bow and purchasable bones described as increasing Drip chance. A separate discovery thread also reports a euro requirement at the castle-like bow island. For the weapon task, continue to the bow access and arrow-kill notes.

These reports do not establish a fixed bottle value, a repeat-spawn timer or an unlimited money farm. They also do not prove a maximum Drip chance. Check the amount and currency on the current purchase prompt before spending; ordinary dollar earnings should not be assumed to satisfy a euro-priced purchase.
